Showcase/Investment screening and due diligence

Investment screening and due diligence

Deal screening and due diligence for private equity: pitch decks screened against configurable criteria with the reasoning per criterion and an outcome to override, a criteria editor with version history and pass rates, a due diligence questionnaire with proposed answers referenced to the documents, and the investment memo, tear sheet and DDQ report generated for the committee.

Overview

Inbound decks pile up and each analyst screens them their own way. The questions asked in diligence differ by deal, and the memo is written from scratch the night before the committee.

The app runs every deck through the firm's screening criteria, written in plain language, and records the reasoning and evidence per criterion; a fail can be overridden with a reason. Criteria are versioned with their historic pass rates. In diligence the questionnaire proposes answers from the data room with document references for the analyst to approve, edit or ignore, and the model proposes bespoke questions. The memo, tear sheet and DDQ report are generated from the ontology and edited before the committee.

Key features

  • Screening: inbound pitch decks screened against configured criteria, with rules to move opportunities automatically.
  • Due diligence: suggested answers to preset questions and bespoke questions proposed per deal, referenced to documents.
  • Reports: templated investment committee reports generated from the ontology to limit hallucination, reviewed and edited.
  • Configuration: criteria and questions versioned with historic analysis.

Decisions it produces

  • Override a screening outcome
  • Approve, edit or ignore a proposed DDQ answer
  • Move a case to the next stage or close it
  • Mark a case approved by the investment committee
